Basic Invite Big Hat Bridal Shower Invitations & Other Beautiful Stationery Items

Beautiful stationery products make me so, so happy.

Wedding invitations, Christmas cards, business cards, you name it…I love them! There’s something special about receiving snail mail, but make it a thoughtful and impeccably designed piece of snail mail..now that’s a treat! Whether you are in the midst of planning a wedding, bridal shower or baby shower, thinking ahead for your holiday cards, or you are ready to update your business cards; I highly suggest checking out Basic Invite. They are a one stop stationery shop for just about any occasion.

I spent some time browsing through all the different categories on Basic Invite’s website and decided to order a handful of samples from all the different categories. It’s important for me to touch and feel the different papers and textures, you never know what you might like until you see it in person! Plus, I had so much fun playing around with different color combinations and I wanted to see how they turned out in person. I’m a detail oriented person (did I mentioned I was a professional wedding planner and florist for several years?) and I always want to make sure everything is perfect before jumping all the way in.

I was really impressed by the entire process with Basic Invite. I’ll dive into all of the reasons why in a moment, but let’s get into the products! I started with the big hat bridal shower invitations. I liked the original white backdrop, but I wanted to add a little more warmth. I ended up switching the main red color to white, the backdrop to butter cup and the paper shape to “ticket.” You can see the final product below, I really like it! I made the same color changes to the coordinating thank you card. I can’t stress how important it is to send thank you cards!

I made sure to order a few business card samples too, did you know that Basic Invite offers clear business cards? How neat is that! I ordered a sample of the Laurel Clear Business Cards, and also the Water Color Waves Business Card in the triple thick velvet paper. Wow! The triple thick velvet paper is really luxurious, I highly recommend this paper thickness.

This floral design wedding invitation and RSVP card were too beautiful to pass up. The water color floral design on the back of the invite really blew me away! I also ordered a few kraft envelope samples to see how they would look paired with this invite.

Last but not least, I ordered a few holiday card samples. They had so many festive options to choose from, but these three were my favorite. I rounded the corners on the Simple Kraft New Year’s Card and changed the paper to “shimmer” on the Leaves and Berries Card (I love the subtle shimmer accent). For the Holiday Soiree Card changed the paper edge to “bracket,” eliminated the foil and replaced with the pseudo gold color, and changed the paper to “smooth coated.” These holiday cards are making me so excited for Christmas time!

I mentioned above how much I enjoyed Basic Invite, so let’s dive into those reasons now!

Color Choices/Customization:

This has to to be the biggest draw for me! Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 color options. When I placed my order, I was impressed with how their website worked. Plus, it was fun to play around with the colors! I’m a stickler for details and having the correct shade of whatever color I’m working with is really important.

Samples, Samples, Samples!

I love samples. There’s no better way to know if your invitation or paper good is exactly what you want without using all your senses. It’s such a treat to have an exact sample of your custom stationery item in your hand to be sure that it’s the one for you.

Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.

Accessories:

Basic Invite has a really great collection of stationery accessories, including stickers, belly bands and envelopes. They offer over 40 different colors of envelopes, and remember - the envelope sets the tone for what’s inside. It’s the first thing you see!

All of their envelopes are peel and seal, so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed too. No licking!

Wide Variety of Options:

Basic Invite offers over 900 wedding invitation sets, there’s something for everyone! Each of their wedding invitations is part of a set. You can find everything from save the dates to wedding invitations and enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs and even matching thank you cards!

Their newest wedding invitation collection is their “Seal & Send” wedding invitations. These invites are all-in-one wedding invitations with a tear-off RSVP postcard included. What's extra special about this particular design is that guest's addresses are printed on the front of each invitation, which means no envelope necessary! All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design, instantly.

Not getting married? They also offer holiday cards, baby shower invites, business cards, and so much more. Think of them as your one stop shop for custom stationery for just about every occasion!

Wedding Websites:

Basic Invite offers completely free, custom wedding websites, just like their wedding invitations! In today’s wedding world, it is so helpful to have a website for your guests to reference throughout the weekend. We attended a wedding in Washington, D.C. last weekend and I can’t tell you how many times we referenced their wedding website for event schedules, shuttle times, registry details, and more.

Their websites are mobile friendly and easy to use. When it comes to customization, you have 180 custom colors to play with and you can choose a design to match your wedding invitation suite! I love that everything can coordinate for a polished, cohesive look.

Address Collection Service:

I think collecting addresses might be the worst part about sending snail mail. In this day and age we don’t keep track of addresses like we used to! Basic Invite offers free address collection service to request your addresses with just three simple steps…share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. It couldn’t be easier!

Thanks for reading and following along. As always, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or send an email with any questions that you might have - livingforaged@gmail.com.
